Personally speaking, I'm probably not that much different from you. Britney is now 11, I love the man I married (despite the fact that he doesn't always listen - lol), and I work part-time. My house is mostly clean, but the spare room is a complete disaster. I like to go for walks, play tennis, and of course, go shopping. I watch my weight, but never pass up chocolate cake!

Angels online

Hi, my name is Siobhan...

Thank you so much for visiting my website!
Well I guess the first place I have to start is with my name. It's pronounced "shi-VON" or if you prefer, "shi-VAWN." Some say "shi-vorn," and that's ok. Siobhan was a hard name for a little girl, but I always loved it because my father told me it means "God is gracious."

You probably remember that when you were a child, you were defined by your name. Since I was always told that "God is gracious" -- and since it was my name, it had to be true! Although I've made a lot of mistakes in my life, I've always known deep down that I could talk to God about things. Call it prayer, call it whatever you like, I believe that God really is gracious, and he really does listen to his children.

Because I believed I could go right to the top, I never gave Angels much thought. But after my daughter was born, something happened that changed all that.

Britney was about 7 months old when it happened. It was the day after Christmas. We lived in a house that had an extra-long set of stairs as soon as you walk in the front door. These led to the living room and kitchen area; most of our house was "upstairs." Of course there was a railing all around the stairwell, and a baby gate at the top.
She was too young to crawl, but she could squirm around. I was tidying up, and she was on the carpet near the stairwell. I had turned for just a moment when I suddenly heard a soft thump. Immediately I looked back, and Britney was nowhere to be seen!
She had squirmed to the railing -- and because she was still so small, she somehow snuck right under the railing! The railing didn't go all the way to the carpet, but it didn't seem possible that my baby could get through that narrow gap. Somehow she did, right at the highest spot above the bottom of the stairs.
With a hard tile floor below, I felt sick to my stomach.
Incredibly, Britney had landed perfectly on top of a stack of empty gift boxes. The top box was partly crushed, and she lay on her back, looking as if nothing had happened! It was as if she were an infant stuntman -- who by the way, when they do stunt falls off high buildings, the land on their backs, on stacks of corrugated cardboard.
Well, I just cried tears of joy and relief. My husband Kevin had been taking the boxes out to the trash, but had put them down when he turned back to answer the phone. There was no one on the line. He then saw something else that needed to be done, and forgot the boxes.
Coincidence? If the phone had not rung at that exact moment -- had Kevin been one step either way -- he would've set the boxes elsewhere. In fact, had the boxes been set down just a few inches to either side, my life would be quite different.

Clearly this was more than just a coincidence. I began to read different things, ask questions, and research the Bible. I found that when God wants things done, re-arranged, or changed, he usually sends angels to do it.
After more research, and talking to more people who experienced life-changing (or life saving!) "coincidences," it became obvious that some of these events weren't just by chance. I began to see the connection, and now am convinced that angels work among us -- usually unseen -- to help when certain unexpected things happen.
I decided to learn as much as I could, and share these experiences with you.

Angels are a key to helping us understand God's will. They affirm our faith. Angels help us in ways we never realize.
But Angels are not something we should worship, and I certainly don't suggest that anybody pray to angels. God is gracious; we need no "intermediaries" for our prayers, praise and worship. Worshipping God is what it's all about -- studying angels is important because it helps us understand the big picture better.

We haven't met each other, but if you're anything like me, you've made enough mistakes that you don't have a halo of your own. Neither do I. ;) Maybe together we can grow in our faith, and our compassion for others so that we too can reflect that light in the world!
Please write to me about your angel experiences! My e-mail is siobhan [at] halowebs.com.
